Two management decisions were responsible for all four Northwood goals in a game that Tooting threw away on their return to senior footballs basement level. Playing with three at the back, including untried new boy Lexus Beedon, was a key factor in three goals, but Liam Sallis’ howler for the equaliser left many questioning why Matte Pierson had been left on the sidelines. Having fallen behind on twenty minutes following a speculative cross field ball into the back post Terrors were level within minutes through Billy Dunn and then ahead by the interval thanks to a scrambled close range Peter Wedgeworth tap in. —–––––––––––––––––—––—–––– Danny Bassets strike ten minutes after the break signalled a period of dominance with more goals on the cards. However, as the home side got physical they also go lucky with another long distance punt, again directed to the back post and again successful. A long range free kick slipped embarrassingly through Sallis hands to gift the equaliser before another long cross and conversion completed the misery a minute from time. It was honours even with defences generally on top. Isaiah Jones headed over from a Danny Bassett cross after just two minutes and in the 26th minute a superb passingmovement involving several players ended with Anis Nuur firing wide. Two minutes later Marlow’s Sunaid Bell had an effort cleared off the line from a corner. Billy Dunn had a powerful drive saved by Simon Grant. Marlow replied with an effort from Tristan Campbell which was just off target. —––––––––––––––––—––—–––– After the break Tooting had most of the possession with Dominic Morgan- really threaten after the break. Horley had a chance but Jack Poplett headed straight at Liam Sallis. Summing up an excellent display by the team and hopefully a good run in the competition also well done to the Tooting fans who really got behind their team. Tooting produced another excellent performance as they came from behind to take the points against a battling Chipstead side. The Terrors started well with Kadeem Ajeon missing a chance in the 6th minute after rounding the keeper. The visitors opened the scoring after 13 minutes when Ezekiel Bademosi latched onto a through
ball and scored with aplomb. United made it all square in the 35th minute when Peter
Wedgeworth’s free- minutes later Isaiah Jones rounded former Terrors favourite Dean Hamlin and curledthe ball past the keeper to put Tooting in front. Just before the break we had three chances in the same movement with Billy Dunn firing the last one wide. —––––––––––––––––—––—–––– Two minutes into the second half ex Terror Sam Clayton had a good effort which just

An entertaining game but sadly the wrong result for the Terrors who dominated for
long periods. Ashford Town opened the scoring in the 21st minute when their best
player Elliott Poley headed home at the far post. Soon after the impressive Zaq Coleman
hit the outside of the post after a jinking run. Tooting drew level after 36 minutes
when the excellent Isaiah Jones lobbed home after a good move down the right flank.
Three minutes later we could have been in front when the visitors defencegot in a
tangle but the effort flashed across the face of the goal. Right on the stroke of
half- —––––––––––––––––—––—–––– Early in the second half Lexus Beeden had a chance but did not get enough power on his shot and the effort was saved. In the 55th minute Ashford went close when Tooting debutant keeper Morgan Campbell saw his clearance fall to Mark Bitmead whose strike hit the post. In the 69th minute Town went in front from the penalty spot James Cottee converting and five minutes later they increased their lead when a cross into the Tooting box was knocked in by Max Webb. The Terrors kept battling away and the Ashford keeper Tyler Tobin made a couple of decent saves to deny Billy Dunn and Abraham Odoh injuring himself in the process. Morgan Campbell then made a fine stop from Nebay Haile. Deep into stoppage time Zaq Coleman pulled a goal back from a corner the ball just crossing the line. Summing up Tooting deserved something from the game but it was not to be. Tooting & Mitcham Utd FC : Morgan Campbell, Isaiah Jones, Peter Wedgeworth, Lexus

The Terrors can hold their heads up high after given a good account of themselves against a Woking side who topped the National League South. The early exchanges saw Tooting keeper Morgan Campbell who had an exceptional game make fine saves to deny Daniel Spence and Greg Luer, whilst at the other end Isaiah Jones who was a constant threat to the home side had a strike just deflected over the bar.
