The points were shared in this hard fought clash which saw the home side finish with ten men and twice hit back to grab a draw. We took the lead in the 10th minute when David Graves played a long ball to Billy Marshall who saw his well placed chip go over the keeper from just outside the area for a fine goal. Chipstead drew level in the 42nd minute when a corner was played to Kenny Orenuga who had time to curl the ball past Luke Badiali into the top corner of the net. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In the 59th minute we regained the lead when a Craig Davies shot hit a Chipstead’s defenders arm and we were awarded a penalty Sol Pinnock who had come on as a sub at half-time coolly slotted home the spot-kick. Back came the home side and six minutes later Dan Moody scored a good goal direct from a free-kick to make it 2-2. The home side were reduced to ten men after 68 minutes when Sam Charles received a second yellow after a foul on Frankie Sawyer. In the 69th minute home keeper Milan Stojsavljevic made a fine save to push over a Frankie Sawyer free-kick and two minutes later Sol Pinnock had a goal- bound effort deflected just wide for a corner. From the resulting flag-kick Chipstead cleared the ball off the line. The home side could well have had another player sent off after a shocking tackle on Nathan Gordon but the referee deemed it only a yellow. After treatment Nathan hobbled back onto the pitch but had to be substituted soon after. Summing up a familiar tale of a lot of our games where we were much the better side but could not turn our pressure into more goals. Hopefully we can that that elusive league win and go on a good run to challenge for that last promotion play-off place. Tooting progressed through to the next round of the County Cup after an entertaining game where both keepers had blinders. Mole Valley had a good chance in just the 2nd minute but Luke Badiali made the first of several important saves to keep out an effort from Nemo Adams and three minutes later they went close again through Ato Okai. Saidou Khan replied for us shooting just over from a corner and in the 28th minute Frankie Sawyer was through on goal but Gavin Dilley made a great stop. Seven minutes later Saidou Khan had a shot beaten out and Frankie Sawyer following up hit the post. In the 41st minute our pressure paid off with a neat finish from Sol Pinnock who scored with a low drive. -------------------------------------------------------------------- In a ten minute spell after the break Mole Valley carved out three good chances Jordan Knight miscued in front of goal, Richard Monan fired just over and Nemo Adams broke through our ranks but Luke Badiali saved the day with an excellent stop. We responded with a Frankie Sawyer volley which was well saved by Gavin Dilley and just after the hour Frankie got the ball in the net but it was ruled out by a marginal offside decision. In the 68th minute Mole Valley produced a great move which put Andrew White in the clear but man of the match Luke Badiali produced a brilliant save to push the effort over the bar. In the 76th minute the visitors got a deserved equaliser with a good finish from Andrew White. We then stepped up a gear and in a grandstand finish Dan Summers scored with a clinical finish from close range in the 80th minute and five minutes from time Tinashe Nkoma sealed our victory with a fine solo effort. Congratulations to both sides for providing an action packed game which ebbed and flowed and warmed the crowd on a very cold evening. Just before the game Craig Tanner was presented with the Ryman League award for our great performance against Bishops Stortford in the FA Cup last September, and for 45 minutes we played as well as in any match since. In a completely one sided first half, we took the lead in the 7th minute when a fine run by Nathan Gordon was brought to a halt by a clumsy challenge in the area and Sol Pinnock struck a fine penalty to give us the lead. Eight minutes later Billy Marshall created a good chance for himself but his shot was well saved by Ramsgate goalkeeper Nick Shaw. In the 24th minute Tom Jelley, playing his last home game for us before departing for Hampton, surged forward and produced a curling right wing cross which was met by the impressive Saidu Khan, whose firm header gave Shaw no chance. A Sol Pinnock corner five minutes later was headed firmly into the net by David Graves which gave us a thoroughly deserved3-0interval lead. The only danger the visitors posed in the first half was a dipping cross cum shot from Aaron Quain which went narrowly over the bar in injury time. Those Terrors fans who predicted that we would go on to win this match comfortably were to be disappointed. Within 7 minutes of the restart a completely revitalised Ramsgate team had reduced the arrears to one goal. In the 47th minute Tom Chapman found himself free in the penalty area and scored with ease to give the visitors hope. This seemed to unsettle us and five minutes later Aaron Quain lobbed Luke Badiali to score their second. Ramsgate were looking as though they would get something out of the game, which appeared improbable at half time. Gradually however we started to regain our composure and create chances. Frankie Sawyer replaced the tiringDan Summers in the 70th minute, and after a fine move on the right hand side which led to Tom Jelley producing a bullet cross, the unmarked substitute was unable to give us the deserved reward. Frankie was proving to be a headache for the Ramsgate defenders and Sol Pinnock headed over the bar from one of his crosses. We have a habit of conceding last minute goals and many of us thought that this game would probably be no different. We did however stand firm although a great save from Luke Badiali allowed us to obtain the victory that our first half performance deserved.
