Tooting can count themselves unlucky not to have got a share of the points after dominating the match for long periods before Whyteleafe’s biggest crowd of the season. In the opening ten minutes Frankie Sawyer saw an effort flash just past the post and former Tooting keeper Sheikh Ceesay saved a low drive from Dan Summers. At the other end Greg Andrews headed just over and ex Terror Sam Clayton just failed to get on to a cross cum shot from Roscoe DSane. However in the 20th minute the home side opened the scoring when the dangerous DSane scored with a low drive after a fine solo run giving Luke Badiali no chance. We continued to pile on the pressure with Tom Jelley and Billy Marshall impressing and a series of crosses into the Leafe box causing havoc. Billy was unlucky not to bring us level when he swerved past a couple of defenders and fired just over.

--------------------------------------

After the break we continued to press and Sheikh Ceesay made a good stop from one of his own defenders, we created several chances but left our shooting boots at home with most of the strikes ballooning over the bar. In the 75th minute Luke Badiali kept us in the game making a fine save from the Roscoe DSane. Six minutes later Frankie Sawyer had a chance after the keeper dropped a cross but Ceesay recovered well to push the fierce drive around the post. The main talking point and defining moment of the match came in the 85th minute when a Whyteleafe defender handled in the box but the ref waved away which looked like a very good shout for a penalty. Four minutes later it was all over when former United favourite Jason Henry made a mazy run down the left and crossed for Kurtis Pykes to blast home. Summing up this was a typical local derby with the home central defenders Jason Thompson and Dylan Merchant outstanding against a continual Terrors onslaught. There is still many games left to play and I am sure the team will turn things around.

In the circumstances an excellent performance from the Terrors having to play most of the game with 10 men. Francis Quarm having been shown a straight red card after just  four minutes for a high tackle. We had the first effort on target when new signing Craig Davies had a shot saved however  shortly afterwards our new striker was sacrificed and replaced by Saidou Khan.

Even with a man short we were causing the Robins defence a lot of problems and in the 22nd minute we opened the scoring when Sol Pinnock who was having a fine game down the left saw his dangerous cross sliced into his own net by the visitors defender Adriano Moraes with Frankie Sawyer in close attendance. We continued to press and Frankie Sawyer headed just wide at the far post and soon after had another effort well saved by Jack Eden.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The Robins with the wind at their backs drew level three minutes after the break when our former player Jordan Clarke scored with a  powerful shot which went through  a forest of legs into the net. The visitors then enjoyed their best period of the game but our defence stood firm. Midway through the half a Sol Pinnock free-kick found Harry Knock whose swerving shot went just wide.

In stoppage time both sides could have won it Sol Pinnock’s corner causing havoc and was saved by keeper Eden on the goal-line but only just. At the other end former Robins keeper Luke Badiali made the save of the match to keep out a fierce cross-cum shot  from Paris Hamilton-Downes which was destined for the top corner. In reflection a super human effort from the team who ran themselves into the ground in this keenly fought local derby. The spirit of the team was fantastic and augurs well for the future.

For the second successive home league game we led at the break and seemed to have game in our control only to slip to defeat. We got the ideal start taking a 7th minute lead when Dan Summers cross found Frankie Sawyer who fired home. In the 25th minute we nearly added a second when Dan Summers forced a great save from Towns keeper Simon Overland and a minute later Howard Newton was just off target with a fierce dive.

------------------------------------------------------

After the break Faversham brought on Josh Stanford and he would turn the game with a super sub performance. He brought the scores level after 53 minutes when he latched on to a through ball from Charley Robertson and netted with a low drive. The Lilywhites then  went in front  ten minutes later when Wayne Wilson’s corner was headed home by David Botterill and a minute later Town went 3-1 up when star man Josh Stanford scored with a glancing header. Fifteen minutes from time only a brilliant save from Lee Badiali stopped Stanford from getting his hat-trick. We reduced the arrears in stoppage time when Sol Pinnock scored direct from a free-kick but by then the game was lost. It was disappointing to lose our second home game on the trot but it was against teams who look certain to be in the play-offs. The last play-off place is still up for grabs and there is much to play for as we are only just over half-way into our league programme.

Another directionless performance saw us slump to another defeat at relegation threatened Walton Casuals, and drop firmly back into mid table, a very long way away from the play off positions. We had Badiali to thank for a very early double save, although on balance, the first half was fairly even. Despite some reasonable midfield work, we were limited to just 3 or 4 forays into their box.
------------------------------------------
We started the 2nd half as if we were asleep as the home side stepped up the aggression factor. And it was no real surprise when they took the lead. One of our corners was cleared and Walton seemed to waltz right up the middle of the pitch to score on the breakaway. If Tanner was looking for a response he didn’t get one as Casuals seemed to win every loose ball as they clung voraciously to their lead. A double change led to us having our best spell of the game after about 70 minutes. Pinnock drew the only real save of the game from ex-Terror Harvey Cheadle, albeit an easy tip-over. We had a couple of chances in quick succession, but in both cases the Walton defenders seemed hungrier for the ball and managed to get it clear. We faded in the last 5 minutes as the game petered out with a bit of a whimper.

And sadly, I think our play off chances finally disappeared as well.
