London Senior Cup

2-0

A well below strength Terrors team easily defeated Thamesmeads under 21 side. A goal in each half, by Frankie Sawyer and TJ Nkoma respectively, did the damage to set up a visit from either Welling or Cray Valley in the next round.

Team: Williams, Turner, Gordon, Alimi, Cheadle, Hartburn, Knock, Quarm, Pinnock, Jee, Noble(Wedgeworth) Not Used: Wilson, Williams, Simpson,H Cheadle(gk)

Ryman South

3-1

Tooting were well and truly sunk at the Moatside in a disastrous first half that saw them concede three times and miss a penalty.  Jordan Cheadle slammed his spot kick into a post just before the interval, but Terrors were already a beaten side,

Despite a noticeable increased sense of urgency after half time the home side always had a man in the way to block a shot or make a tackle. A typical Frankie Sawyer strike reduced the deficit, but there was never a feeling that a point would be rescued.

Surrey Senior Cup

2-1

A second string Terrors XI, without subs (thanks to a pile up on the adjacent M3 motorway), but including a fit again Ryan Palmer were unable to make progress in the county cup in the first meeting with the Combined Counties opponents.

First half goalmouth action was limited to a couple of long range potshots by the home side, comfortably dealt with by Cheadle jnr, and a few goal-line crosses from Tooting - none connecting with an attacking boot.

Half time 0-0

Shortly after the break Cheadle could only palm a powerful header into the roof of the net and seven minutes from time the lead was doubled by another header, this time an uncontested one from a corner.  A couple of minutes later Darren Bryan reduced the deficit with a fine looping effort, but there was to be no equaliser and extra half hour of delight that may have given those stuck on the motorway a chance to arrive before the end.

Team: H Cheadle, Binns, J Cheadle, Bertram-Cooper, Simeone, A Bryan, Adusei, Regan, D Bryan, Gjoni, Palmer

Ryman South

2-1

Tooting took the points in a entertaining game at the KNK Stadium. The visitors enjoyed much of the early play without seriously testing Gareth Williams in the Terrors goal. In the 13th minute Sol Pinnock had our first effort firing across goal and on the half-hour he had a goal bound effort deflected over. We eventually broke the deadlock three minutes before the break when Francis Quarm had a fierce drive beaten out by former Tooting keeper Simon Lehkyj and the impressive Cecil Jee was on hand to slot home.

Half-time: Tooting & Mitcham   1      Worthing   0

After the interval the Rebels drew level in the 57th minute when Will Berry who  had gone close a minute earlier headed home. Back came the Terrors and Cecil Jee made a fine run into the box and saw his shot parried by Simon Lehkyj into the path of Sol Pinnock who sliced wide from point back range and two minutes later Sol must of knew it was not to be his day when he had another effort hacked off the line. It was not all one way traffic as Gareth Williams made a brilliant stop at the other end. We however got a deserved winner in the 78th minute when Max Noble’s pin-point cross was headed home by sub Elliott Simpson. We went close to adding a third in the closing stages when Frankie Sawyer cut in from the right and saw his shot go agonising wide.

Tooting & Mitcham United : Gareth Williams, Malachi Robinson, Nathan Gordan, Bashiru Alimi, Joshua Turner, Colin Hartburn, Harry Knock(Elliott Simpson), Francis Quarm, Sol Pinnock, Cecil Jee(Frankie Sawyer), Max Noble(Peter Wedgeworth). Other subs Ryan Palmer & Harvey Cheadle.

Man of the Match Francis Quarm
