3-1

Tooting never got going against high flying Hastings after an early setback when Colin Hartburn unluckily diverting the ball into his own net from a corner.  Midway through the half and another set piece, this time a free kick, teed up Ellis to double the home lead.

Francis Quarm had Terror one opportunity, heading an inviting Jordan Cheadle cross wide of the target.

Half Time 1 - 2

Harry Knock had a tremendous shot save by Pelling, but any hopes of a recovery were quickly dashed in an immediate counter attack that say Darby slot in the third.

Fifteen minutes to go and Frankie Sawyer recovered a bit of self respect for the visitors with a superb shot firmly placed over the keeper from the edge of the area.

Hastings wasted several further opportunities before sub Jordan Wilson had an injury shot tipped over by Pelling, but this was not a happy day by the sea.

6-0

Securing a first six goal league haul since 2006 was hardly the topic of conversation at half time. It was more a matter of how nice it was to have a bit of luck and hold a one goal interval advantage, thanks to a close range finish by Frankie Sawyer after Francis Quarm had robbed the ball beautifully in midfield. By then Whitstable were unlucky not to be in front

After splitting the home defence only for Thompson to soot weakly at Williams.  Later they came close to equalising through Colin Hartburns attempt at goal of the season, which fortunately sailed just over a stunned Gareth Williams.

As the second half got underway heads were held in hands as a spectacular free kick sailed high into the Tooting net, only to be disallowed for shoving in the ranks. Man of the match Max Noble then stepped up a gear to set up young loanee from Crawley Town Cecil Gee to slip in a debut goal and a few minutes later Noble himself walked through the visiting defence to thunder home the third..

Jordan Cheadles free kicks continue to defy physics and the fourth was perhaps the best yet - centre net and dipping directly over the flailing keeper. Sub Sol Pinnock converted his own won penalty, having been unceremoniously uprooted by Huggins and Frankie Sawyer put the icing on the cake with a neat chip.

0-3

Football is usually a game of two halves. Today it was a single half, three penalties and another convicting performance. However, in reality it was the second half that showed the teams growing maturity, closing out the home side and resisting the temptation to chase another landslide of goals.

The Redhill defence could not cope with the nippy Terrors attack, chasing them down to concede three cast iron penalties in a mad fifteen minute period. Harry Knock was first to be felled allowing Sol Pinnock to net first, Francis Quarm was the second to be uprooted, but a perhaps over confident Pinnock struck the spot kick far too close to the keeper, who saved easily.

Cecil Gee had already claimed his score (See below) by the time he was shot down and, with just 33 minutes gone, it was dead ball specialist Jordan Cheadle who was entrusted with successfully putting away the final penalty.

In between this carnage Gareth Williams was called into action with a flying save - the resulting corner was cleared to Cecil Gee who galloped down the other end to curl a shot around the advancing keeper.

Half Time 0 - 3

Redhill showed no interest in damage limitation and pushed on, playing with three at the back.  However, they only seriously threatened once, about 20 minutes from time with a rapid flurry of shots that exercised Williams acrobatically and required the goal-line intervention of Colin Hartburn  Jordan Wilsons introduction re-introduced a bit of endeavour, but the main priority was to keep the result safe.  Revenge for the last league defeat at Redhill - mind you that was in August 1955!
